What Causes Severe Constipation And Blood In Urine After Angioplasty?
Question: Hello Sir,
Recently my father had dual angioplasty. Dual angioplasty means the first was planned and performed as per planning.After the first angioplasty he was discharged on 3rd day. Later due to chest pain he was admitted back to hospital and the second block was removed after 4 days of the first angioplasty. Doctor explained that the 2 blocks were cleared and stents were placed perfectly. Now it's 4rth day at hospital. My father is very uncomfortable with heavy constipation. Doctors are giving many medications which seems no much effect. Also I would like to mention we can see blood in his urine is this normal after angioplasty.

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that constipation is faced by most patients who are admitted to hospital for multiple days.
This happens because of the stress, lack of physical activity , altered dietary food stuff and some medicines. So don't worry for that just talk with your treating doctor
He will add some laxative to clear the bowels.
Blood like discoloration of the urine do happens in some patients post angioplasty due to multiple blood thinners. Point out this to your doctor as probably some meds needs to be titrated.
