Question: Hello, my 26 year old daughter had a very explosive diarrhea episode 3 weeks ago for 3 hours in the middle of the night. She said her stomach never ever hurt that bad in her life. The next day, it was gone, 3 days later she started having dizziness, brain fog, but only when she is standing up and not moving her head. She went to have her neck adjusted twice, because she said her neck felt tight, but it didnt help. She got a complete blood work up done, the only thing they found was her Liver was slightly elevated. This week she had another fasting Liver test, it was more elevated than last week. Now she says just beginning last night, her stomach hurt so bad she almost couldnt sleep. But today her stomach pain subsided a little. I am a medical claims adjuster, I have been doing a lot of research, I see where she may have gotten a parasite possibly when she had the 3 hour diarrhea 3 weeks ago? Do you think a fecal test is the best for ruling out a parasite? She feels fatigued also and brain fog all the time, along with the brain dizziness that comes and goes. They want her to come back next week to do another Liver test (3rd one). They also said they will do an ultrasound of her liver next week. She is 26, 5'7', very healthy school teacher, doesnt drink or smoke, takes vitamins minerals and nutrients every day, married but no kids. Not Pregnant. Took birth control for 3 years, hasnt taken any birth control now for 2 months. What are we missing here? I have been told from my dr friend at work possible parasite, virus, bacteria in her inner ear? I have read that can elevate your liver test. But her stomach has hurt off and on ever since the explosive episode 3 weeks ago, and now it hurt so bad she almost couldnt sleep last night, is there a connection to her dizziness? She has no diarrhea, no fever.. The lab tech said after this next friday liver test, they will do a hepatitis test, but she doesnt fit the norm for having hepatitis or cirrhosis. I am on this website to see if I am missing something here, I have been a medical claims adjuster for 30 years, and my daughter has always been the picture of health.. any help would be appreciated. Brief Answer:
Please give some more details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Before giving some valuable answer, I would like to know some more important details. First of all it is important to describe the abdominal pain. Where is it located (upper right, upper left)? Does it radiate to the back? Does it appear after foods intake? Was there any blood or mucus in the stool? Does her urine get dark?
Can you please attach the blood work report (the one with liver tests)?

I`m looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.

her stomach pain has gone away. the only thing that now remains is her dizziness, and black out feelings that come and go. I dont have her 2 elevated liver test results, but she has another one this Friday. along with hepatitis blood draws. Can the dizziness be from hepatitis? she said she feels detached from her body sometimes. She had no dark urine or mucous in her urine. But she has been constipated which is unusual for her. She would actually feel better after she ate, when she had stomach pain a few days ago. No pain in her back, just all over her stomach. I looked up where the liver is, and the pain wasnt that high in her stomach. But like I said, her stomach pain has now gone.

Brief Answer:
Yes, dizziness can be from hepatitis.

Detailed Answer:
Dizziness can appear due to dehydration and ions deficiency associated with diarrhea. Sometimes it can stay for weeks after diarrhea. Any infection can also be the reason of dizziness and foggy brain. It can be hepatitis or even regular virus causing cold.
Blood work with CBC would give some more information about possible infection.
If the stomach pain was getting better after foods, duodenum ulcer can be the case. Therefore, gastroscopy should be considered.
And for sure she should start probiotic intake to strengthen her immune system and increase fluids intake.
