What Causes Severe Dizziness And Blurred Vision After Taking Vesicare?

Question: After taking vesicare for 3 days I have severe dizziness, vision issues and this morning bloody diarrhea. Are these side effects of this drug? Not taking this anymore! I have interstitial cystitis and IBS. Just had a normal colonoscopy in May and normal blood work a month ago.

Thanks for query .
You have been taking Vesicare foe Interstial Cystis and had dizziness,blurred vision etc

These are known side effects of Solfenacin (vesicare) .

As regards bleeding per rectum ,it is unlikely to be due to Vesicare but could be due to IBS that you have .

Consult Gatroenterologist for evaluation and further treatment .

to control dysuria.

I also started taking Nitrofurantoin 50mg. once a day for recurrent utis this week. Could this cause the gastro problems.

Though less common it can cause blood in stools .If you have bloody diarrhea get your stool examined.

Taking combination of Ofloxacin with Ornidazole twice daily should help to resolve the issue .
