Side effects of dieting
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
What you have been facing are the side effects of crash dieting and sudden weight loss.
This is the reason we always advice to work for weight loss slowly and target a maximum reduction of 3-5 kg's a month.
Crash dieting, leads to hormonal changes inside the body. As a result of starvation, body reduces the production of Serotonin, which is a mood hormone.
Now, let's discuss what to be done.
Start back taking normal diet and increase the dose of exercise gradually. Take proper meals. Just avoid fatty food in them.
Give your body one day break from exercise. Also, allot yourself one guilt free day, where you can eat whatever you like followed by increased dose of exercise the next day.
Make sure you don't take any supplements advertised and advised by gym instructors for body building. Most of them contains steroids, and they cause severe depression. I hope you are not taking any.
By adopting these measures, you would improve a lot, but gradually.
In severe cases, we also require to use SSRI group of anti depressants.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
