What Causes Severe Dizziness When The Heart Rate Is 156 Bpm?

default
Posted on Wed, 31 May 2017
Question: Is it normal that I feel so tired easily while cycling at the hardest gear or speed . Under the hot sun at 12? Or is my stamina just really bad? And I cycled for only 20 mins. Whereas last Friday i cycled for two hours and didn't feel this tired. But I cycled at the second easiest gear. Should I be concerned. I'm planning to go gym in the next two days to build back my stamina.. I noticed my heart rate was 156 after I stopped cycling and I was feeling a little bit DIZZY but felt abit better after sitting for two to three mins

Hello,

Heat and other environmental conditions such as humidity can effect the amount of stamina a person has. Also, physioligical factors such as the amount of hydration, quality and duration of sleep, what a person has eaten, adequate warm up period, previous exertion that day, and other stressors can effect exercise tolerance as well.

I wouldn't be overly concerned with feeling tired on this one day when exercising. You may need to build up more slowly with the difficulty of gear resistance.

Feeling dizzy is a sign that you pushed your body a little too much. I recommend going back to the previous gear you had been using and building up slowly. And mind things like time of day, rest, nutrition and hydration.

If the dizziness continues after exercise regardless of returning to the previous gear level/activity, then do go in to be seen and have an EKG. But otherwise it may have just been pushing yourself too much too soon.
