Posted on Tue, 21 Feb 2017
Question: for the past month I have experienced facial and all 4 extremity numbness. I have been to er, neurology, internal medicine, rheumatologist. I have had every blood test to determine MS, Parkinson's , ALS, Sclerderma, RA, and every autoimmune disease you can think of. I have had an mra and mri of the brain and they were negative. Ct negative, Chest X-ray negative. All blood work cbc and others normal. crp normal.
They gave me neurotin to take and it made symptoms worse. Any thoughts on possible cause? I am going crazy with symptoms

Brief Answer:
Further testing is necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

I think that additional tests are necessary in order to achieve a correct diagnosis of your concerns.

Blood tests about vitamin B12, D3 levels, thyroid gland function tests, spinal tap, nerve conduction study and EMG, evoked potentials ( sensory and motor ) are necessary, in my opinion, to evaluate further conditions such peripheral neuropathy and to exclude completely ALS, multiple sclerosis.

If, in the end these tests will result negative and no condition is found responsible for your symptoms, anxiety and stress disorder should be taken in consideration.

Discuss with your Doctor about these tests.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
