What Causes Severe Headache After Suffering A Brain Trauma?
Read below
Detailed Answer:
I read your question as well as the exchange with my colleague and I understand your concern.
Some headache is common after a brain trauma such as yours. It might have been useful if you could have included some details on the type of brain damage (I assume you must have had some sort of brain imaging like CT or MRI).
Anyway the first step in treating pain are over the counter pain killers for which you do not necessarily need a prescription. Ibuprofen, Naaproxen, Excedrin etc are some common options you could try. Paracetamol/Codeine combinations like Tylenol 3 may also be added to those if not enough. Hopefully that will help until your February appointment.
If headaches persist or return very frequently then in that appointment the possibility of regular preventive treatment (which needs prescription) will be discussed.
I remain at your disposal for other questions.
