What Causes Severe Headache When Diagnosed With Arnold-Chiari Malformation Type-3?
Question: I have seen a neurologist and been diagnosed with Arnold-Chiari Malformation type III and cervical spodylosis with melopathy. I am having severe headaches that will not subside its been 3 days as a constant. I have an appointment with the neurosurgen this month. Does this sound like something I need to visit the ER for?
Brief Answer: XXXXXXX Chiari malformation
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I would be concerned about having a headache that long just because of the pain and discomfort. So for that reason alone I would recommend being seen. The main thing here is that if you have any neurological signs like loss of vision, nausea vomiting numbness tingling or weakness that you need to been immediately. This could simply be a migraine or tension headache but with your condition you can't always tell the difference.
So my recommendation is to be seen today.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
