What Causes Severe Itching All Over My Body?

Question: Just yesterday I started experiencing severe itching all over my body. The itch will start on a random part of my skin/ head and when I scratch, little bumps begin to appear. It goes away after about 10 excruciating minutes. It really scared me yesterday evening when the itch began in my mouth and on my tongue. I then took Benadryl to no avail. The itching kept on. I'm still taking Benadryl but I still experiencing constant itching. I was recently prescribed penicillin for a root canal that was recently done but stopped taking it on Sunday. The itch just started Tuesday (yesterday).

If Benadryl is not working for you, you can take another antihistamine like Fexofenadine 180 mg after discussing with your doctor. Keep yourself hydrated.
