Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through the medical history of the patient you are referring to and my opinion is as following:
1. You are saying that the patient is male and suffering of sleep apnea. One of the cause to his sweating is sleep apnea.
2. Drops in blood sugar levels (noctural hypoglycemia) can also be other cause too.
3. Other causes can be infections (whether bacterial or fungal)
4. If none of these causes are present, then, sometimes, some people would sweat during night (noctural hyperhydrosis).
All the best!
