I have not yet seen a doctor, so don't have x-rays to send to you. If it is a stress fracture, how is that typically treated?
Thank you Joy

Thank you for your answer Dr. I visited my primary care Dr. He did not order an x-ray but rather chose to prescribe Meloxicam 7mg 2/day with 2 refills. As you know this is an anti inflammatory to treat symptoms of osteoarthritis. The medication has relieved my pain. Does that indicate a correct diagnosis or in addition, should I pursue an x-ray to confirm? Also, reviewing the risk related with this medication (I have no contraindications) I have a concern about taking it long term. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Should not be taken for long term
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
this is a pain killer and it should not be taken for long time. It can cause high blood pressure and kidney failure. I would suggest you to take calcium tablet and vitamin D also. It will improve bone strength. There is no harm in getting X rays done.
Thanks
