What Causes Severe Pain Radiating From Naval Towards The Bladder Post Abdominal Surgery?
I must mention, that my depression meds quit and it has taken 6 weeks for the Pristiq to start working. I had totally lost my appetite and subsequently I lost 30 pounds.
We have a new physician, and he sent me for an ultrasound yesterday. When she was doing the test she made me stick out my belly as hard as I could for about a minute and when she pressed down I thought I was going to die from the excruciating pain. She finished and I came home.Suddenly I had a craving for food and I ate 2 solid meals for the first time in 3 months. Well when I lay down last night I had clleaned my navel and NO SMELL??????? Then the worst pain I have had in a long time set in. It is going from my navel towards my bladder; I have pain in my right side unreal and it has spread to my right kidney. Could she have burst something? I haven't slept/2 oxycocet 5mg 325mg do nothing for the pain and I take a bowel relaxant also (Buscopan). Just a while ago I started vomiting (not much at all) but I am so nauseous that I used a Gravol suppository and then another one and I still feel yucky.
Clinical evaluation, examination and investigations.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Noted the history related to your multiple abdominal surgeries, the infection thereupon, the recent ultrasonography where the Lady Doctor pushed it hard and the following happenings as you have well noted.
You now have the most severe pain going from naval towards bladder, pain on right side and spread to right kidney, took the medicines and no effect. Now started with vomiting, has nausea in spite of Gravol suppository.
The most probable cause can be an intestinal obstruction that might have set in and it would be better to consult a Surgeon for the following:
Clinical evaluation, X-ray of the abdomen in standing position, CT scan and whichever investigations may be necessary.
You may need to be kept nil orally, put on intravenous fluids and other medicines as may be necessary till a proper diagnosis is made.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early diagnosis and proper treatment.
It is better to rush to the ER or Hospital.
