Have Abdominal Problems And Constipation

My Dr. says I have an abdominal hernia on the left side. I m also overweight. I have an ongoing problem with constipation, bloating and other uncomfortable abdominal symptoms. Because I often feel like food is not progressing from my stomach on to the intestines ( I feel too full to eat normal amounts after 3-4 days of little or no bowel movement) I m wondering if the hernia could be a contributing factor. Only when I use Miralax or Milk of Magnesia to loosen the stool do I get relief.
