I was given a course of antibiotics, Augmentin, for a sinus infection after which I was diagnosed with a UTI and given a course of Bactrim to treat it. During that time the spasms began. I completed antibiotics as directed. my stools are normal, however there is pain associated with needing to defecate. I have some urgency to urinate, and after having done so there is pain that radiates up into my chest, sort of a rolling pain. I have some burning and some frequency, especially during the night. my back does not seem to be involved at this point. I have not had this sort of problem before and had not experienced a UTI in many years.

Brief Answer:
Persistent UTI, needs further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
The additional history is suggestive that you are still suffering from UTI in spite antibiotics.
I would advise you the following:
Gynecologist's opinion and examination to see if there is any uterine prolapse that has caused cystocele causing and persisting with symptoms.
An opinion of a Urologist; tests of blood and urine: routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity to guide for further course of an antibiotic.
Ultrasound of the whole abdomen, particularly genito-urinary system.
All these things would give the most proper diagnosis and give the proper plan for further curative treatment.

I hope this answer helsp you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Thank you. I have an appointment for mid-month with a Gynecologist. The triage nurse with whom I spoke when making the appointment was remarkably unimpressed with my symptoms as described.
