What Causes Severe Throat Irritation, Cold And Cough In An Infant?

Question: Hi,
My baby is 3.5 months old and I m getting cold and throat irritation....please suggest me breastfeeding friendly medicines for cold and cough... Thanks in advance

I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message. I think I can help you.
The best options you have are as follows.
1. steam inhalation 4 times a day.
2. warm saline gargles 4 times a day,
3. multivitamins course once a day
4. paracetamol sos,
5. plenty of fluids.
6. use face mask while feeding.

As of now I would not suggest taking antibiotics.

Hi doctor,
Thanks a lot for ur answer and I m following the same... But mi cold and cough got severe...and previously doc suggested azibact500 for cold with cough...is that fine....mi little one will get cold if its continues rite...that y I m afraid...

Thanks for your response.
I have suggested using face mask while feeding or when in contact with the baby.
That will protect the baby.
Antibiotics can be initiated if you like.
But it's not going to reduce your disease.
Cough and cold IS a viral problem.
Antibiotics act against bacteria.
So it won't help.
