What Causes Severe Vomiting After Consuming Alcohol?
Question: Hello. I had four beers Thursday night then almost immediately made myself throw them up after forgetting I may have an etg alcohol test the next day. I blew a 0.0 on my car breathalyzer the next morning. Had a lot of coffee and probably a half gallon of water before going in. I did have the test. My urine was very clear. Do you think I will test positive or it will prob be a diluted sample? The test was done about 16 hours after throwing up the alcohol.
Brief Answer:
probbaly will be positive
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Well, alcohol is absorbed in stomach within several minutes after intake, so if you took 4 beers, you probably could not throw them up immediately and there was obviously alcohol absorbtion into the blood.
ETG test will detect it for sure if taken 24 hours prior to the test and in most cases even after 2-3 days.
Feel free to ask further
Wish you good health.
Regards
probbaly will be positive

I'm not sure my follow up went thru. But do you have any experience with etg testing? Because considering the amount of water I took in right before the test, it really seems like it would positively be a deluted test?
Brief Answer:
hi
Detailed Answer:
Excessive water intake may cause dilution of alcohol in urine but ETG metabolite will be present and the test will be positive. Also this test can tell if your urine has been diluted with excess water.
