Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When I breath in my right shoulder decompreses in and then when I breath out it reinflates. I am not sure how to describe it but it does not seem natural at all. It is to the point where if I am just standing up straight and breath in my whole arm moves.
As this could be the reason for the tightness of the respiratory muscles like the pectoralis major and minor. As these muscles have their insertion in the arm bone this movement of the shoulders is expected.
I will advise doing stretching of the pectoralis major and minor muscles so the shoulder comes to proper alignment. Post which doing simple strengthening exercises for the upper back and chest will be good.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
