What Causes Sharp Muscle Pulling Sensation In The Left Leg?
About 6-7 weeks ago, I started waking up with a sharp pulled muscle feeling [a 6.5 out of 10] in my left leg, about 8" distal my pelvic-thigh junction, on the anterior & medial area [more so than dorsal]. The pain is was worse in the morning, but as I got up, moved around, and even exercised, it would ease up a bit. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen helps too. Now though, it is keeping me up at night, and thus why I am writing now - cant sleep through it. I imagine it is a spinal nerve compression injury, as I also have some mild numbness and tingling on my thigh and left side of my the same leg. No other medical history; I do not eat sugar, ever drink more than one beer, no smoking, and I am in athlete-level condition. I am assuming there is nothing to do, but wait it out and treat it with NSAIDs, but just thought I would run it by you. Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.
From the symptoms it does seem that there may be a spinal nerve compression in the lumbar spine (L1-2-3).
This may be causing neuroradicular pain along the inner and anterior aspect of the thigh.
Taking rest, with analgesics and pregabalin/methylcobalamin tablets will help.
Another possibility that should be kept in mind is and Early Avascular Necrosis of the head of femur. In this case, the symptoms mimick those of spinal nerve compression and if the symptoms do not improve within the next 2-3 days, then an MRI of the hip and the lumbosacral spine are recommended.
I hope the answer was useful.
Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.
Thank you.
Kind regards.
