What Causes Sharp Pain And Stiffness In The Fingers?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Dec 2016
Question: Three fingers on my left hand at various times will have sharp, cramp like, pain and stiffly stretch and I have to massage with right hand to get them to curl in and stop the pain. I had a face down fall Sept. 2015 and landed on the left arm very hard. The hand problem began shortly after the fall. This happens once or twice a week and at times has happened in my wrist. What kind of doctor should I see?

Brief Answer:
Neurologist and plastic surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It sounds like possible nerve compression in arms such as carpal tunnel or cubital channel syndrome. This is diagnosed with EMG or MRI scan and then treatment can be planned and may include physical therapy or surgery of nerve decompression. Wish you good health. Regards
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
