Brief Answer:
pleuritis / muscle strain

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

Such kind of pain on deep inspiration can be caused by either pleuritis or muscle strain.

A recent episode of lung infection or cough can result in inflammation of the pleura (outer covering layer of the lungs). On taking a deep breath, this inflammed part of the pleura gets stretched causing pain.

A muscle strain of the interscostal muscles (muscles bridging the two adjacent ribs) can also lead to pain.

Take anti-inflammatory muscle relaxant tablets for 3 days with application of local gel and hot fomentation.

If there are no signs of improvement even after 3 days, then you should get a chest Xray done and consult a physician.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.
