Question: i have had a shap shooting pain on the right side of my rectum. Pain would shoot up rectum and last only a few seconds. Today I am having more dull type twinges in the same area. Had colonospy last year and five small polpys removed. Not constipated and no bleeding.

I had a colonocopy done in May of 2013. Five very small polyps removed. My gastro physian was told about the pain and he said I did not need antoher colonoscopy this soon. I did have an anual fisure or small abrasion or tear on the outside that healed. However, I still have to be careful cleaning to avoid iritating the area. Not sore and bowel movements are soft and do not bother me. The pain was there before when I had the fisure and just started again and not signs of fisure or any hemmorrids or soreness. Should I insist that he run another colonoscopy since it has only been a few months since I had one? Could this just be a muscle spasm of the rectal muscle? Around Christmas I did have a hemmorrid then the very small fisure on the outside. I had irregularity issues from antiboditics taking for pnenumonia. Once I got straightened out, the sharp pains went away. My GP said the pain I was having in my right side and lower abe. was some type of muscle strain. Once that went away, so did the sharp pain in rectum unitl this week when it showed up again.
