Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Before running into final conclusions, I'd like to know if you are also having other health problems such as:
- constipation with very hard stool
- nausea
- fever
- abdominal bloating (distension)
- or any other symptom?
If these symptoms are present, further examinations are needed to determine the right cause:
- abdominal ultrasound/X-ray
- physical examination by the GI specialist or surgeon to evaluate anus and rectum
- urine analysis
Looking forward to have the requested data in!

Hi and thanks for responding quickly I did have some constipation but it seems I am having no issues going except maybe a little pain. As far as any other symptoms none I can think of. Just sharp pains in abdominal area and rectum. Almost unbearable but not constant.
Brief Answer:
Following advice on easing constipation problems..
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
If you are having constipation problem, most probably that might be a cause, especially if your diet is low in fiber. Therefore, should try to avoid constipation as much as you can through:
- consuming more water
- have foods high in fiber
- take fiber supplements (containing psyllium) and lactulose to soften and ease bowel movement
- take simethicone for gas
- take laxatives (sena supplements) for at non more than 14 days
- take probiotics to optimize intestinal flora, thus, reducing gas.
- take mephenamic acid to ease pain
All these medications and supplements you can find as over the counter. Meanwhile, you can schedule an appointment with GI specialist to run further examinations to rule out other pathologies (as mentioned earlier). If everything is ok, then, IBS and/or proctalgia fugax should be considered too.
I also advise my patients with the same symptoms as yours to avoid anal sex.
Hope it helped!
