What Causes Shifting Pain Along Arms And Wrists?

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Jan 2015
Question: I am a male 66 years, having mild pain in both arms particularly at the wrists for the past 18 months or may be more. The pain keeps shifting from point to point and disappears some times for a short period. This is not causing any major problem in my day to day work but is quite discomforting specially at night. Can you tell me the cause and prescribe some medicines?

Likely to be osteoarthritis of CM of thumbs

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

After going through your query I concluded that you are having osteoarthritis of carpometacarpal joints of thumbs as it is commonest cause of pain in wrist region particularly in your age.

Treatment of it is hot fomentation, Diacerine and glucosamine. For pain relief analgesic such as ibuprofen can be taken. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.

Brief Answer:
Complete your 10 day course +CartisafeD.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back

As your prescription contains analgesic (hifenacTH), and vitamins , it is Okay.
You can continue with it for 10 days with addition of new medicine Cartisafe D (contains Diacerine 50mg and glucosamine 750 mg) daily one tablet any time after meals. Its course is nearly 3-4 months.
After 10 days you can continue with cartisafe D for 3 months. Hifenac T can be taken for pain relief.
