What Causes Shortness Of Breath After Walking For A While?

default
Posted on Mon, 24 Oct 2016
Question: I can walk less than 1/4 mile and just gasp for breath. Within about 30breaths, I am ok again. Sitting around watching tv I breathe fine. I go to planet fitness 4 days per week and do 15 sets of 15 reps but not real heavy wits. I don't gasp for breath doing all that. It's very confusing. Been to 4 doctors and had tests run. Everybody said I don't have coped, or asthma, nor bronchitis. One said I have compression?.. I am 6'4" and 360. Started utrsystem 8 days ago. Already lost 10lbs!

Brief Answer:
Could be due to effort angina

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I would insist you not to ignore the condition as it could be an indicator of underlying heart disease. I would insist you to get a treadmill test (TMT) done and to get your lipid profile checked and to share the reports with me thereafter. I also need to know if you have the symptoms of chest pain at rest and if you have a family history of heart disease.

I would await your response.

Feel free to write back.
