What Causes Slightly Bulging Vein On My Right Wrist?

Have noticed in past 2 mos. vein swelling in my left leg. Used to be right leg, but not as apparent there anymore. It's as if the swelling just shifted from one leg to the other for no apparent reason.
Typically normal BP: right arm: 124/84; pulse 79. Left arm: 117/78;pulse 76 ( just took BP ; no BP meds ever.
Due to partial obstruction - maybe node or tight clothing.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Bulging veins could be usually due to partial obstruction. The route of obstruction blocked is causing the vein bulging. Maybe lymphnodes or abnormal position of hand, pressing on the veins in the elbow or shoulder location.
2. In the legs, as it has disappeared in one and appeared in another, it could be possible obstruction.
3. Need to check for any lymph node enlargement. Get a hemogram to look for any infection cause. Blood pressure is not the cause as it affects only the arterial side. See if you are wearing any tight undergarments. Wear loose undergarments, and see to it that there is no compression at any spot.
Exercises, which induce muscle strain, can cause edema and make vein appear prominent. Not to worry. Do get a complete hemogram and look for any abnormalities.
Hope it helps.
