What Causes Slurred Speech And Vertigo In The Morning?
Question: i am 52 this has been going on years i thought it was anxiety. every morning i wake up within an hour i experience slurred speech, loss of balance, cant control my legs and arms. and about 3 hours later i start returning to normal. sometimes in evening to but rare occasions.

Since when you have slurred speech, loss of balance, not control over limbs?
Is there any medication going on, specifically which anxiety medication ?
Have you any medical illness like Diabetes or High blood pressure?
Is there any investigation you did like MRI or CT scan?
I would ask all this because such symptoms also occur in many medical illness also like Hypertension, diabetes and at this age we must rule out all this before putting diagnosis of anxiety.

i had this problem when i was in my 20's
i waas taking desipramine
i have highe blood p.
i had those test they are normal

Hi dear,
If you are my patient I would like to change your medication, i would start desvenlaflexine, sertraline, paroxetine etc... and also immediate acting benzodiazepins like clonazepam, lorazepam etc...
Because Desipramine has not much effective in anxiety and also cardiac side effects on long term.
If your hypertension is controlled with medication currently you are taking than Continue as directed by your physician doctor.
Discuss with your treating psychiatrist .
