What Causes Sore Calf Muscles And Muscle Twitching?

Question: I have had sore calf muscles on and off for 6 months or more and the last two weeks am experiencing muscle twitching mainly in my legs. I have had kidney, liver, vitamin and mineral tests that are all fine. What could be causing this?

Brief Answer: ....... Detailed Answer: Hi there.. Thanks for writing in.... Calcium deficiency, Vitamin D deficiency, Electrolyte abnormalities etc , might cause what you are experiencing. Has the doctor examined you and ruled out Deep Vein Thrombosis etc. If all your investigations and clinical examination is normal, it might be helpful to have Vitamin E (EVION) once daily. Not drinking enough water can also cause calf pain. Make sure you drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Have nutritious well balanced meals with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables , Calcium rich food, nuts etc Do proper warm up and stretching exercises before brisk walk or activities .
