What Causes Sore Throat In A Smoker?

Sore throat, Needs symptomatic care
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. With recent history of travel, sore throat with no fever or infection , history of smoking all points towards acute inflammatory condition mostly environmental factors related like smoking, climate change, no doubt air conditioner and swimming pool water for sure.
Nut shell you need not to worry about it. It wills elf resolve with out medications in a couple of days. You may take aspirin gargles or salt water gargles. Use hot beverages for relief of throat. Give your voice some rest. Humidfy the air by using a humidifier or inhale steam on daily basis like in shower for at least 15 to 30 minutes.
Avoid irritants like cigarette smoke as well as air conditioner as that dries the room humidity and leads to such irritant cough. Throat lozenges will also help.
If the problem persists or fever shows up, talk to your doctor and let them have a look. They may even want to get a throat swab if necessary and then treat accordingly but i am sure it wont come to that.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

A few days tops
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me
As i mentioned earlier its unlikely to be an infection. With symptomatic care and some anti inflammatories like ibuprofen it should be back to almost normal where you can swallow without pain in a few days , 7 days tops. Infections usually dont show up like that and has a different etiology and is associated with fever. If you get fever any time , record it and go to doctor for your throat swab and they will start you on antibiotics if need be but i am sure it wontcome to that.
i hope it helps.
