What Causes Sore Throat With Soreness On Tongue?
Suggestive of mouth ulcer.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.Thanks for your query.
I have thoroughly read your query and completely understand your concern. As you rightly mentioned the soreness on your tongue is due to previous usage of Augmentin for 10 days. However mouth ulcer is one of the commonest occurance post anti-biotic treatment.
I would recommend-
Stop neurofen, which is analgesic and does not help much in case of mouth ulcer.
Apply Benzocaine gel for mouth ulcer locally twice to thrice daily.
Have plenty of water/fluids.
Supplement fresh fruits, vegetables in your diet.
Take good multivitamin supplement for a 2-4 weeks available over the counter.
I am sure your mouth ulcer should heal within a span of 1 week to 10 days.
I would request you to upload a snap of the affected area of your tongue using reports tab on your page.
Regarding your sore throat I have few queries-
Since when do you have sore throat?
Does neurofen relieve your throat pain? If yes approximately what % of pain gets relieved on medication?
Do you have pain while swallowing?
Await your reply soon.

my tongue has improved a lot and has very little pain. the ulcers have gone and the tip is almost painless. my throat is still very sore. it is sore on the left side about half way down. it is sore to swallow. I t deterorates during the day and is sorest at night and when waking in morning it is least painful. the nurofen took about 80% of the pain away.no nurofen since your reply.my voice has been very croaky and sometimes it is difficult to talk. am able to eat with some discomfort and still have a healthy apeitite.
Probably yeast infection; needs further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.Thanks for your revert.
Soreness in the throat especially when it is long standing as in your case is suggestive of yeast infection which has to be treated with antifungal medications.
I were to evaluated by doing an ENT examination and Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy if required and plan further management.
Kindly consult a surgeon or a gastroenterologist as early as possible to facilitate further investigation and treatment.
