Brief Answer:
Get a MRI done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The pain that you have is likely to be due to a muscle sprain or a muscle fibre tear due to an injury or exertion. Since the pain is persistent for several weeks it need to be investigated. MRI scan is the investigation of choice to detect any such soft tissue abnormalities.
I suggest you to consult an orthopadician who can examine you, and order a MRI to know the exact cause and provide the proper treatment for it.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
