What Causes Soreness In Breasts And Lower Abdominal Pressure Before Menstruation Time?
Last date of intercourse: XXXXXXX 8th XXXXXXX Menstration Date: XXXXXXX 19th
July Menstration Date: July 12
August Menstration Date: August 8
The week of July 23rd- my breast became extremely sore/sensitive (to touch, walk, etc). Got my period as scheduled- i assumed it was going to be a severe one but it wasn't. I would call light to medium lasted 3.5 days for the most part. Cycle is now over- having some breast tenderness (not to the same extreme, more like tings) but having pressure in lower abdomen. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests- one before my period and one after- both negative.
Your symptoms seem to be due to mild hormonal imbalance.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns.
Your menstrual cycles are normal. Hormonal changes can occur in the body even due to stress ( physical or mental), sudden changes in body weight and this can cause sore breasts.
The second reason for tender painful breast in your case could be fibrocystic breasts. Now reading this new phrase please don’t start thinking of cancer. This is not a disease also. Some women normally have lumpy (small nodules) gland tissue which is called as fibrocystic breast. This can cause pain and tenderness.
High levels of prolactin hormone can also cause breast pain
Since now the breast pain is not severe I am of the opinion that it is due to mild hormonal imbalance and it will settle down. It is also the reason for pressure like symptom in the lower abdomen.
Try doing these simple things:
-Wear well supported sports bra even while sleeping.
-Cut down on alcohol, caffeine and fats in your diet
-Use heating pad or warm water bottle
-If you are doing heavy weight lifting exercises, stop doing it. Moderate exercise is good for you.
-Take pain killers like Ibuprofen 400mg twice daily after food and see.
I hope this helps.
If you have any further queries, do write to me. I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
