can be mild localised infection; also can be traumatic
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
I understand your concern.
Your photograph is not very clear, so it is difficult to understand the problem from your picture. Kindly post a better photograph if possible.
Anyways, from your history it looks like a mild localised infection unless it is traumatic. You might have got a minor hit which you cant remember. I would advise you the following-
Dont manipulate.
Apply ice locally- it will give a soothing effect as well as reduce inflammation.
You can take tab coamoxyclav 625mg as the area is sore and might be local infection.
You can take tablet ibuprofen 200mg twice daily after food if it is painful.
You can take tablet pantoprazole once daily before breakfast.
You can consult your doctor for prescription of the above.
Hope this was helpful.

might be arthropod reaction
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Thank you for the history and the picture. Kindly tell since when are you feeling this. If you have such a feeling after waking up one morning and the sore is increasing gradually, it can be an arthropod reaction. Also it can be early stages of herpes zoster but it should better be ruled out as there is no excessive pain.
And local infection is possible in that area by bacteria or virus. This is not very uncommon.
Hope this was helpful.
Regards.
you are welcome
