Question: Hi Doc. I am 6 week Pregnent. I found some spotting on 25th Feb. Wnt to the the doc. She gave me HCG injection 5000 weekly. I did Ultrasound that day. It showed a Little Subchronic Bleeding and a sac of 5 weeks 2 days. After 4 days I again went for a unltrasoung to a different place . They Measured my baby less than 5 weeks. I was scared and thought the baby is not there. The doc asked me to wait. I have no Pregnancy signs also. She asked me to wait for 10 days and do the ultrasound again. Earlier also my Positive line was very faint on HPT. I wanted to tested againthrough HPT and found it is Positive. Is it due to HCG injection Or I am still having my baby. I have no spotting or bleeding now. A very little Brown discharge is there. That too When I wipe. Please help. My Last LMP was 08th XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
No need to worry, repeat ultrasound after 10 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. The spotting you had was because of the subchorionic bleed around the fetus.

There can be slight variation in the fetal measurement when two different ultrasonologists do separate ultrasounds.

Positive urine pregnancy test can be present in pregnancy with a normal fetus, in abortion or because of hCG injection.

Your doctor is very correct in suggesting you a repeat ultrasound after 10 days and to take hCG injection in the meantime.

Brown spotting you are having might be due to the flow of the collected blood in the subchorionic haemorrhage. It is not harmful.

I suggest you to not to worry, be positive and hopeful, and follow your doctor's advice.

Brief Answer:
repeat ultrasound in next 1-2 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX thanks for responding.
I understand your concern, but still I suggest you not to take so much stress as it is not at all good for your fetus.
On the basis of your information, I think you have got your ultrasound done on 1 st March. So, you can repeat your ultrasound in next 1-2 days to confirm the fetal well being.
It is not a blighted ovum because fetus was seen in ultrasound. The missed abortion can be diagnosed only on ultrasound.
You are perfectly all right, be hopeful.

Hi Doc. I went for the Sonography again. They said the Baby is not growing. But the Radiologist told me He can see the Fetal pole but not the Heartbeat. Earlier it was 5.2 and It is 6.1..
He has written in his Report that Cant see Yolk sac. But he also didnt write that the fetal pole is seen but told me verbally. I want to wait for the Heartbeat.

Is it Possible that the Baby will grow. They are asking me to abort it. Please suggest

Brief Answer:
possible missed abortion

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX thanks for responding.
You are now 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant by your LMP. The ultrasound is still not showing fetal heart beat at this gestation is indicative of missed abortion. Now there are no chances of growth of the fetus. You need to have a medical or surgical abortion.
Please do not get disheartened as most of the first trimester fetus gets aborted as they are chromosomally abnormal and are not fit for survival.
I would suggest you to get it done and do get back to us for further queries.
I would also advise you to get investigations for recurrent abortions done after 6 weeks of this abortion.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
