What Causes Stomach Cramps, Bloating, Nausea, Diarrhea And Vomiting?

Question: I have had stomach cramps, bloating, nausea, diarrhea, throwing up associated with acid reflux, and diarrhea with yellow stools for 4 days. Do you think it could be a virus? Could the pale stools have anything to do with medication I am taking for depression? YYYY@YYYY

Diarrhea with vomiting indicates an infective cause. It can be due to acute gastroenteritis. Fluid and electrolyte replacement is vital in such a case. Symptomatic treatment with anti emetics should also be done. If there is no blood in stool, fever and leukocytosis then antibiotics would not be needed. Yes, based on your description, it could be viral gastroenteritis. Antidepressants and many other medication / factors including food content /texture can alter the stool color.
