What Causes Stomach Discomfort When Suffering From Femoral Hernia?
Question: Howdy, I am having lots of discomfort since Thanksgiving. I have an unrepaired inguinal/femoral hernia of 30 + years and have not had a problem for that long. Also had IBS years ago but no problems 30 + yrs. also. But ate pecans, lots of ice cream, coffee, and coconut in dishes I prepared with hours cooking for family. Only on MVI, fish oil large doses + tumeric for knee and Extra strength Tylenol for the pain in groin area, now take limit of Tylenol for pain.No Bowel or bladder problems the pain is just a cramping spasmodic pain. Hasn't eased much in this time. Have been on weight watches and drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits veggies, which have cut back on some since pain. Not sure what need to do .
Brief Answer:
Need to rule out Obstruction
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
Since you are having hernia from long time chances are more that you go for complications like obstruction, etc.
Increase in pain even though you take tablets suggests your hernia may be going for obstruction. I suggest you to get examined by your surgeon to diagnose obstruction or it is because of IBS . They may suggest you to get ultrasound scan of abdomen and hernia. Usually obstruction can be made out by examination.
Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.
