Is Starting Of Period The Next Day Of Undergoing Femoral Hernia Repair Normal?
Hi I have just undergone a femoral hernia repair. Whilst all is well with the wound site etc., i appear to what i can only describe as started a period the day following the operation although this was not due for a further 14 days. Would you consider this normal or problematic?
According to your description the possible causes of your problem are: - During the middle of the cycle means are the time of ovulation sometime some amount of spotting can be seen due to the drop of estrogen hormone. - Due to the stress and strain of the surgery sometimes reproductive hormonal fluctuation can occur which can lead to the withdrawal bleeding.
If the spotting converts into normal flow and stops in 4 to 5 days, you can consider it as the early onset of periods and possibly in next few months your cycles may get regularize, if only the stress and strain is the cause. If the irregularity persist in next cycles, you may need to get evaluated. By clinical examination and ultrasound the possible cause of your problem can be identified, treatment can be planned accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
