Hello
Thanks for getting back
From the history you have provided there are two possibilities
1. Irritable bowel syndrome presents in the same way, it is most often due to anxiety.
2. Tab Tandate is known to cause pain abdomen especially crampy dyspepsia
Here is how to go about it
1. Tab Butylscopolamine is ideal drug for crampy pain, you can use it as sos basis
2. Avoid caffeine, spicy food, milk and milk products
3. Tab Sporolac taken three times daily is given in irritable bowel syndome initally for 15 days, most patients improve with this
4. Since the symptoms have persisted for months now it has to be evaluated. Approach a GP for the following tests. Complete blood count, stool routine, USG abdomen and pelvis. If all these are normal then you plan and get a colonoscopy done
5. Approach your treating physician to change your anti hypertensive as that might be a cause as well for the crampy pain abdomen
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
I wish you good health and a speedy recovery
Regards

I haven't unrelated question about my period and high blood pressure. During my period I seem to have high spikes in my blood pressure. My medication helps during the time that I am not menstruating. I do not really have any cramping during my period as I know that pain can rise your bp. It seems to happen 2 days before my expected period and ends 2 days before my period ends. I have asked my gp and he is unsure as to why this might be.
Brief Answer:
Well known fact

Hello
Thanks for the query
I know of atleast 4 patients of mine who presented with similar complaints during my M.D training, which made me look it up. It is a well documented fact that some normotensive women have increased blood pressure during their periods and it typically starts 2 days prior to the periods. It is not known as to why this happens, some say it is due to hormonal changes and other theory is because of change in hemodynamics. Anti hypertensive drugs during the period is one known option and the other option is to undergo hysterectomy
I hope I was of help, please get back to me if you have any further queries
