What Causes Stomach Upset After Eating Out?
Question: Hi,
For the past few months, i am having a not so good stomach. Whenever i eat outside food (even good quality restaurants) or eat too spicy food, my stomach gets upset for 1 day. I get 2-3 loose motions and then everything returns to normal when i eat home food. Can you please suggest how I should go about correcting this problem.
Brief Answer:
Gastric Reflux
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX Welcome to HealthCareMagic.
Sounds like you have heartburn (burning chest pain or discomfort that occurs after eating) and an unpleasant sour taste in the mouth – caused by stomach acid coming back up into the mouth (known as regurgitation)
Many people experience occasional episodes of acidity, but if people have persistent and reoccurring symptoms it is normally regarded as a condition that needs treatment.
In my practice i normally recommend taking Omeprazol 20 mg at bed time. if that doesn't work. You will need to go to a doctor to get a full exam.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I neither have any heartburns or any discomfort post eating. No sour taste in the mouth.
I only have 2-3 loose motions the next morning and then everything returns to normal.
Please suggest.
Thanks,
XXXX
Brief Answer:
Understood, acidity most common, IBS next possible
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Thanks for following up. Thank you for giving me that valuable information.
Now, i'm still thinking that Acid Peptic Disorder (APD, Acidity, etc) is still top on the list of possibilities, based on what you have told me. But there also could be the issue of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (a chronic disease which causes inflammation in the digestive tract).
A gastroenterologist is needed to diagnose that issue as they would have to do a colonoscopy and look directly at the gut.
I would suggest that you try the omez at first and if it isn't working, I would seek a good gastroenterologists opinion.
Take Care
Vin
