What Causes Sudden Body Aches, Chills And Fever?
Brief Answer:
Can continue dolo
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
He can take dolo to control fever. It can be taken 3-4 times a day.
From the symptoms it seems like viral infection. Most virals are self-limiting and resolve in few days. Until then symptomatic treatment is continued. Lots of fluids are taken to flush out the toxins. Rest is needed.
For fever dolo is taken.
If any other symptoms appear then medicine is taken accordingly.
Let me know if he has any other symptoms.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for your response.
As mentioned in my earlier question, he had high fever day before yesterday and took Dolo twice and since he also had severe headache took one dose of Cold & Flu tablet with composition paracetamol, cetirizine, hydrochloride and caffeine. He didn't take dolo while taking this tablet as this already has paracetamol(325 mg) in it.
Cold and Flu tablet is given by some doctor as he gets headache 2 to 3 times in a month and we did all the tests and everything seems normal. Doctor suspected it could be a migraine headache and it stops after he take Cold & Flu tablet. Please provide your inputs on this tablet also as he seems to be taking it whenever he has headache.
Coming back to fever, yesterday the fever was not there and even he even went outside and completely ok. But today morning again started feeling feverish and headache. Morning the fever was 101.9 *F and he again took the Cold and Flu tablet morning. Just now(4:15 PM) I checked the body temperature and it is 98.9 *F. He took only one tablet in the morning. He seems to be feeling better now but has the body ache and don't feel like eating anything.
Do you think he should be tested by a doctor or can I try any medication as per your suggestion? Please advise.

Brief Answer:
If he is feeling better there is no need
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
If your dad is feeling better, then there is no need for further treatment.
It is ok to take Cold and flu tablet for headache. If the headache and fever come back, then we need to investigate further for possible infection. The tests can include basic tests like complete blood count. Other tests depends on other symptoms.
Antibiotics should be taken only if its a confirmed bacterial infection.
Hope it helps.

Dengue test came positive for ns1 antigen with platelet count 0.90* Lakhs/cumm and Differential Leucocyte Count (DC) 2390* Cells/cumm.
Doctor suggested to stop all the tablets and have plenty of fluids and recheck the platelet count again tomorrow and hospital admission needed only if it drops below 0.50* Lakhs/cumm.
He is complaining on the entire body pain along with abdomen. Are we on right track?

Brief Answer:
Dengue is self limiting
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Yes symptoms are corelating with dengue. Dengue is a viral. It gets better on its own. Antibiotics are not very effective. Treatment is supportive.
In case of dengue we need to regularly check platelet count every 2-3 days. If its gets less than 30 lac then platelet transfusion will be needed.
There maybe pain in body and abdomen, but if its bad pain then a surgeon needs to be consulted. In some cases bleeding may happen which may cause pain. So we need to get it checked.
Pain killers are usually avoided in dengue.
Juice of leaves of papaya is considered good.
