What Causes Sudden Light Flashes In Vision?
Question: I saw a circle that looked like the flashing silhouette of some sort of venous structure last night in left eye. Gone now. Should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
Check your blood pressure, Intraocular pressure
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had training in Ophthalmology for three years and practice as one along with general practice. I can efficiently answer your questions.
I think at this time you should check your blood pressure, Intraocular pressure (IOP) and then if there are any retinal changes.
If every thing above is normal you should consider this as floaters in the vitreous. This could be an age related degeneration. They are otherwise harmless and does not need any treatment. They spontaneously regress without any treatment.
So you should get an Ophthalmologist check the retina with Ophthalmoscope and check the IOP as well before you stay calm.
Hope this answers your query.
