Brief Answer:
you may be suffering from mortons metatarsalgia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.

Myself Dr Sudhir Kumar,

After reading your query I concluded that you are suffering from morton's metatarsalgia(Morton's neuroma) as you has characteristic suddenly developed a shooting pain that feels like a nerve in your foot, between toes.

conditions clinically confused with a this condition include synovitis/capsulitis stress fractures/reaction, and plantar plate disruption.

Ultrasound (sonography) accurately demonstrates thickening of the interdigital nerve within the web space of greater than 3mm, diagnostic of a Morton’s neuroma. It is also helpful to differentiate it from other conditions

MRI can similarly demonstrate the above conditions

As a treatment option
1.analgesics such as diclofenac is given to relieve pain for few days. mostly pain subsides .Patient advised to come back whenever he has pain.
2.a small foam or fabric pad may be positioned under the space between the two affected metatarsals, immediately behind the bone ends.
3. corticosteroid injections in the lesion are used by me to treatments for my cases. ultrasound can be used to guide injections into the web space.
4. alcohol ablation of the nerve similar to cortisone injections.
5.If such interventions fail, patients are commonly offered surgery known as neurectomy, which involves removing the affected piece of nerve tissue.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
