What Causes Sudden Swelling In The Throat?
Question: Hello. I am currently taking two different medications for my leg infection and I just experienced a moment of swelling in my throat and some numbness at my mouth. I drank some water and the sensation has gone away. Should I go to the ER? I've been taking the medications since Sunday night.
Brief Answer:
NO need for an ER visit!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have reviewed your information fully. There is nothing that warrants an ER visit at this time. These transient sensations that fade in a short while are not indicative of any disease process or undesirable drug interaction.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. In future, you can contact me directly through this link: http://doctor.yyyyyyyyyyyyy.com/yyyyyyyy/dr-yyy-yyyyy/67093

What would I look for if it was an allergic reaction or undesirable drug reaction? And should I continue to take my medicines as normal?
Brief Answer:
Continue taking your drugs as normal!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
An allergy wouldn't have responded so fast without any treatment. There is no need to stop medications. If this however happens again, report to me for further evaluation and guidance.
Keep me posted!
