What Causes Sudden Weight Gain In The Stomach Area?
Have you had your Thyroid blood works?
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day.
You seems to be suffering a lot. But please do not worry. We will try to work out a way out of it.
From the symptoms you mentioned, I have a strong feeling that you have depression/anxiety. Can you identify a reason for that?
How are your periods?
I noted that you have put on a lot of weight over a short period and that you have craving for high salt diet. Does that mean that you eat lots of crisps/fish and Chips kind of food?
Do you think you have purplish wide striae on sides of your belly or on shoulders or thighs?
I would also strongly encourage you to check your Thyroid function tests and a fasting blood glucose.
It may be a good idea to meet a GP and get yourself checked for a thyroid abnormality and a fasting glucose test

I have not been feeling down, in fact I have been feeling elevated more than usual.
I have not have had my thryoid checked. I am booked in for GP next saturday, was just beginning to worry as to whether this needs more ugent attention from the breathing etc.
My phone submitted before I was finished.
I have no purple around the sides.
My periods have been abnormal for the past 2 months which I have found very strange. I have been like clock work continuously for the past 4 years and the first of the two weird ones back in march was very light, lasting 3 days (normally they last 5 then 2 days of spotting). The last period I had came 4 days early and started with brown spotting for two days, followed by a heavy period for 2 days with clots and stabbing pains in my abdomen. Then it went back to very light.

Hi,
Yes, vegemite does contain a lot of salt in it. A high salt diet can certainly make you fat. And once you gain weight, there is a tendency towards periods becoming less predictable and irregular.
Take a short break from work and plan for a small vacation somewhere far , away from city. But before that, we need to rule out few hormonal conditions which can cause your symptoms. As I mentioned earlier, a doctor will have to examine you to search for clues of hormonal disorders. The first test any one would do is thyroid blood works and a fasting glucose.
