What Causes Sudden‐onset Of Neck Pain Radiating Into Chest, Back And Arms?

Question: Over the last few months, I have experienced onset of heavy aching which starts in a small area, usually in my ears and neck and spreads into the chest, back, and arms. It lasts about 5 - 8 minutes, and gradually subsides. It was occuring only about three times in several weeks, but this last week has happened two times close together. My blood pressure is at a healthy low, my heart rate is good and dr's have said that my heart "sounds good" . I am taking warfarin due to 2 DVT's and 1 PE, also escitalopram for moderate depression, ropinirole for RLS, and Tramadol for a stress fracture in combination with arthritis and bursitis. I am physically active as I can be, and have a house and small farm to work on. I am female and 67 yrs old, and about 40# overweight. Should I be concerned about the aching spells?
Brief Answer:
Can be a pain from the heart.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
The areas you describe are areas where a pain from the heart can be referred to. The pain lasting 5 - 8 minutes and if it occurs with exertion or after food can be an angina. It would be good to see a doctor and have an EKG done.
Till you have the same done, please stop any activity when you get the pain and rest. Rest for a while after eating.
Do get back to me if you have further queries.
I shall be interested in knowing your doctor's opinion.
Take Care,
Can be a pain from the heart.
