Brief Answer:
It may be due to anxiety or physiological response.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your query and understand the concerns.

There could be multiple reasons for this sweating.

It can usually occur from the sweat glands that are mediated by the thermo regulatory system of the body.

There is release of excess sweating when there is increase in the body temperature or circulation that could be due to fever, hypertension, anxiety. hyperthyroidism or excessive fluid intake.

It is actually a physiological response of the body to the above condition to maintain the body normal heat and circulation levels.

There might be chances that at night your heart rate increases due to anxiety or panic disorder.

So,stay away from anxiety or take propranolol 10 mg or alprax 0.5 mg at night time under your doctor's supervision will be very much helpful.

Hope this answer will be helpful for you and If you still have any query, feel free to ask me.

I try to drink plenty of water everyday, certainly not a gallon, but close on some days. anxiety and stress is an issue, would there be other symptoms if is not just stress and anxiety?

Brief Answer:
take anxiolytic drug and do some tests.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the follow-up.

As I have already explained, excess sweating could be also due to anxiety or stress which is a physiological response of body to maintain its temperature.

Here,it seems to be due to anxiety or stress, so you can go to some local doctor or GP who will prescribe anxiolytic drug like Alprax 0.5 mg in night time to get relieved.

You can also go for thyroid function tests and blood pressure measurements specially during bed time to clear remaining doubt.

Hope this Information would be helpful.
