What Causes Swelling And Pain In Testicles Even After Surgery For Epididymitis?

Question: Hi. Two weeks ago I had epididymitis surgery on both testes. I still have a huge amount of swelling and major pain. What can I do to get some relief? I have pills and I've done ice and warm baths as recommended by my doctor. I even went as far as to purchase bikini underwear. Any ideas???
I have had this pain for 3 years following a major surgery. The right side epididymitis was the problem. The left side was fine and healthy. The right side is healing nicely but the left side is another story. Ever been kicked in the balls? Well, I still have that level of pain in the left side. Was I wrong following the doctors advice in removing both as a precaution? He advised it would spare me another surgery if it were to also fail. I messed up didn't I?

Brief Answer:
You should get Ultrasound scrotum.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I would like to know the exact indication of Surgery. I request you to attach pre operative reports along with surgical procedure.
I do surgery over Epididymis for Epididymal cyst only.

Epididymitis is inflammation of Epididymis which is present just above the testis attached to it. Antibiotics and anti inflammatory tablets are the treatment of choice. There is no role of Surgery in Epididymitis.

If you have operated for Epididymal cyst, while removing the cyst, chances of bleeding from Epididymis will be present .Bleeding points should be controlled. Otherwise, blood will collected in the scrotum leading to swelling and pain .

Hence, I request you to consult your doctor and get an Ultrasound of scrotum. Till then, I prescribe Antibiotic like Cefuroxime tablet along with Anti inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
