What Causes Swelling Around The Pelvic Area While Arising From A Seated Position?

Question: hello doctor I feel swelling around the pelvic area near the penis...I have no discomfort lifting or moving anything I do feel discomfort sitting down and standing up from sitting but if I sit with my legs shoulder width apart the discomfort is extremely less. I have placed an ice pack on the region and it does feel a little better although when I have an erection it appears to swell.... is this a Hernia?

Hi
As per your description, it could be Inguinal hernia.
In early stages,swelling gets reduced in lying posture, reappears after straining or in standing posture.
Discomfort /pain could be due to Intestine or Omental fat that gets blocked temporarily.
Do not apply ice over it.
Ultrasound of that area will give a clue.
