What Causes Swelling In The Finger Joint?

Question: I wrote to you last week regarding my swollen knuckle on my left hand. It got bad and I went to my doctor who said it was gout on my knuckle. My question is how can I shrink the cyst.

I'm sorry, but I'm not that good with the computer and don't know how to send a photo. I do know, however, that it is gout (not a cyst) and it has formed a lump on my knuckle. When I touch it, it feels like a blister and it has a yellow center (it almost feels like I could squeeze it, but I won't).Can you help. It is about 1/4" high and the same diameter.

If it is really a gout, medicine called Colchicin 0,5 mg taken 3 times a day should help. However from your description it does not sound like a gout.
