What Causes Swelling With Pain In Knee Post Injury?

You need to get x rays of the knee
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you might have injured your bone. I would suggest you to get x ray of the knee joint to see if there is any crack in the bone or knee cap (patella).
I would also suggest you to apply ice over it and keep it elevated over pillow. if there is any blister or you are having increase in swelling with pain on toe movements then you need to visit ER as some time it can become compartment syndrome.
Take brufen for pain relief. Do not massage or move your limb or keep it in hanging position as it may further increase swelling.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions. If possible please send me image of your knee.
Thanks.

It can be bursitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If this swelling is below knee then there is high chances that it is bursitis. It would be better if you can send me images. Also follow advise which i have given earlier.
Compression bandage is also helpful.
thanks
