What Causes Swollen Xiphoid, Clicking Sounds In Ears And Jaw Pain?
Question: HI Dr
i am a male 42 y old for the past 3 years i have this condition ,i went to several doctors & test with no positve results :
one morning i wake up & notice that my xiphoid itself was swollen , from there on all my other symtoms start to appear :
1.when i bend my back i can hear it click ,click from my lower back upwards
2.my ears feels plugged ,sometimes ringing when i iam lying down
3.when i move my chaw foreward my ears feel like it opens
4. waking up some mornings and feel like i have a hangover
5. jaws hurt some mornings
6. feels spaced out ( brain fog )
7. anxiety ,depressed
8 cant think clearly ,feels like im not fully awake
9 tired most of the time
currently taking omega 3 ,6,9 & tyrosine which relief my symptoms a little bit

I would suggest that you test with a x ray PNS waters view. This may confirm your diagnosis.
Meanwhile, start with steam inhalation 4 times a day, warm saline gargles 4 times a day, plenty of fluids, multivitamins once a day.
The last few symptoms are suggestiveof depression and I would suggest that you visit a clinical psychologist for sessions that may help you.

Yes I think a condition connecting all 3 is unlikely unless I consider severe depression with somatoform disorder.
But I frankly don't think it is that.

The xiphi sternum swelling can be visualized in mri (if we do it for backache) and so we can know the exact nature of the swelling .
Most commonly it's a small hernia. usually doesn't really need a treatment.
